Tips for planning your Hala rides on New Year’s Eve!

It’s almost 2026 and we know you have your outfits, shoes and plans ready. Here are some questions you may want answered to help make your trips a breeze, so YOU can focus on having FUN!

Will Hala taxis be operating 24/7 for NYE celebrations?

• Yes, Hala will be here to take you around no matter how long your celebrations go on for! However, please note that ride scheduling will be disabled between 02:00 PM on Dec 31st, 2025  to 6:00 AM on Jan 1st, 2026.

Can Hala cars fit large groups? What type of cars does Hala have?

• Our most-loved Hala sedans seat 4 passengers comfortably. Please note that Hala Max (vans), Hala Kids and EV taxis will not be available.

• On New Year’s Eve, we expect significantly higher demand across the city, especially in the most popular celebration spots.

How fares are calculated: As per RTA regulations (2023–2025), the New Year’s fares start at AED 20.
Where dynamic peak fares apply (up to 2x), the starting fare will be AED 40, with the final fare based on traffic conditions and your destination.

Why peak fares may apply: To help rebalance real-time customer demand and taxi availability, dynamic peak fares may apply between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM in select locations.

Hala captain can’t reach me at my pickup point/ Which areas are expected to be busy for NYE? 

• On New Year’s Eve, higher traffic and restrictions are expected around key fireworks and celebration locations. If you’re travelling through these areas, please use designated pick-up and drop-off points and allow extra time for your journey. If your plans are elsewhere, plan your route accordingly.

For a smooth pick-up, message or call your Captain via the app and check RTA channels for road closures and restrictions.

Why are there no Hala cars available in my area?

• Some areas will be closed due to New Year’s Eve events, and no Hala taxis will be available for pick-ups in those locations. For more information on those areas please visit the RTA’s official channels.
