Tips for planning your Hala rides on New Year’s Eve!

It’s almost 2025 and we know you have your outfits, shoes and plans ready. Here are some questions you may want answered to help make your trips a breeze, so YOU can focus on having FUN!

Will Hala taxis be operating 24/7 for NYE celebrations? 

• Yes, Hala will be here to take you around no matter how long your celebrations go on for! However, please note that ride scheduling will be disabled between 02:00 PM on Dec 31st, 2024 to 06:00 AM on Jan 1st, 2025.

Can Hala cars fit large groups? What type of cars does Hala have? 

• Car types: Our most-loved Hala sedans seat 4 passengers comfortably. Please note that Hala Max (vans) and Hala Kids will not be available.

How much will taxi trips cost on NYE?/ More information on Hala ride fares on NYE. 

• Fare estimates: Whether you’re paying by credit card or cash, make sure you check the total fare estimate before hitting the Yalla button on any car type.

We anticipate a significant increase in activity both in and around the city, so in order to rebalance sudden and real time surge in customer demand and taxi availability in specific areas, dynamic peak fare is expected to go up to 2x between 06:00 PM to 06:00 AM. This can be expected only in certain high density locations based on real-time demand.

For fare calculation: The New Year’s flag fall as per RTA 2023/2024 is AED 20. In areas where dynamic peak fares increase up to 2x, the starting fare will be AED 40, with the total depending on conditions and the destination.

Don’t worry! You’ll always be informed about the peak multiplier before confirming your ride, so you’re fully informed and in control to plan your trip accordingly.

Hala Captain can’t reach me at my pickup point/ Which areas are expected to be busy for NYE? 

• Avoid the busy areas: If you’re traveling in or around locations where the fireworks displays will take place, please plan your trip accordingly to avoid delays and restrictions. As per the RTA announcements, here are the busy locations:

   5. Opposite Jumeirah Beach Hotel
   6. Mina A’Salam
   7. Ain Dubai

We advise you to coordinate with your Captain on your pick-up locations by calling them directly through the app, to ensure a smooth pick up experience. For further information on road closures/restrictions, please refer to the RTA’s official channels.

Why are there no Hala cars available in my area?

• Some areas will be closed due to New Year’s Eve events, and no Hala taxis will be available for pick-up in those locations. For more information on those areas please visit the RTA’s official channels.
